(local) Imports vs Domestic race

After seeing the amount of bs that has been talked on the forums the past few months, I would like to have our own import vs domestic race. Get up off the benches and come race, this can be settled once and for all, the legal way
To make the import guys step up, i will give the import drivers 500.00 cash to split between 8 or 10 cars IF you can beat the domestic cars. The fastest import of the day IF you win will also get 4 hours free of charge on my dyno.
The only rules are tires, Both sides must have DOT approved radials. and both sides MUST have complete street cars, By that i mean both sides must have full interior, windows that work, all lights, ect. You must race your car as you drive it on the street, No changing stuff around once we get to the track. I do understand that every ones definition of a street car may be different, But im sure everyone understands what i am getting at. The cars will meet some were in the Hampton area and drive to VMP. We can do the racing 2 different ways...
The first way is to have everyone make 3 passes, Both sides will average the times together to come up with a final number. fastest group wins.
The second way is to qualify and run on a ladder, go rounds and see who wins at the end. This would be a lot harder with parring the cars up. I also dont see the imports having much of a chance doing it this way. With a pro ladder #1 will run #16, #2 will run #15 and so on. This will be on a .400 pro tree.
I would like to do this sometime around mid April to mid May. We can rent the track or just go on a fri night test and tune. If we do rent the track i will make all the arrangements.
I have seen all you Honda guys talking all this smack about domestics for years now, I would love to see it all be backed up for once! If there needs to be more or less rules, speak up and we can get something set in stone, also post up what Fridays would be good for you guys around those dates.
So far the domestic guys.

EDIT. Fuel rules added 1/12/10
-Any DOT fuel including E85 will be allowed ***max 100 oct***. I WILL be checking this fuel after the 3 passes. you WILL bust a fuel line at the injector to give me a sample. If you do not comply your dq'd no questions asked.
-Race fuel is strictly prohibited with the exception below.
-Water/meth injection..... This will be allowed, You can run what ever you want in your water/meth supply tank. I dont care if its c16, nitromethane, methanol, alcohol, piss. you get the point. This may not be supplied with anything bigger than a 300li pump. It can only be controlled by a on/off switch commanded by the user (button or wot switch) Or from a boost/voltage reference switch. The only controllers allowed are from (example Snow performance) the manufacture. If you have a homemade kit send me the part number of the controller you are using and i will approve it. Using your ecm to control the flow/pressure into the nozzle/nozzle's or spray bar is strickly prohibited. Nozzle's must be stand alone only, No electronic nozzles allowed.
Nothing in this tank can enter your main fuel supply. Witch means it can not pass through your injectors. It may only enter the engine through a nozzle or nozzle's, or a spray bar. No more then 3 nozzle's permitted if located before the throttle body.
************updated rules 1/13/10***********************
Here is the way its going to be. 2 classes to make everyone happy. I have thought long and hard about this, spent 10 plus hours on the phone with people ranging from race promoters, Import guys i used to race with in nopi, a few big named magazine people, answered over 200pms from local guys on both sides. Not to mention trying to keep track of 600 posts in 2 days. With that said i hope everyone is happy with the rules, They are set in stone and will not change.
The first class is for street cars only, Your going to drive your car to the track. There is no exception to this rule. i would like everyone to meet at spots in there city/town and ride together to the track if at all possible. The fuel rules that have been posted will still apply to this class. I have changed them a little. You can check them on post number one. You must have full interior unless were cage bars or safety equipment wont allow it(back seats). Race cars with tags are not welcome in this class and will run in the other class. This will be run as a true street style event, 3 runs and times are averaged together. I am going to try and pair you guys up with equal cars to run against. It wont matter for the times, but it will make it better for the fans that way. We will have 3 classes. a domestic v8/v6 class, Import fwd, rwd, awd will run together as a class, And domestic 4cyl. After class 1 is complete any car is welcome to run in class 2.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***********TIRES***********
-FWD cars may run slicks no taller then 24.6inch. You must ride to the track on your street tires and change once you get there.
-AWD cars, May run any DOT approved tire, max size is 26inch
-RWD (Standard trans and auto)import and domestic have to run radials, No cheater slicks. Max size on a 15 wheel is 275/60,295/60. 16inch and up may run what ever you want, radial only.
*******EDIT 1/14/10*************
Tired may be on imports and domestics once at the track
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Class #2, Any fuel ok.. **** Cars do not have to be driven to the track**********
Domestic v8/v6- no big blocks, No twin turbos over 67mm, no single turbos larger than 101mm. ( turbos may be necked down by a reducer) Max blower, f3 131mm(no r)No clutchless trannys. Rears may only be narrowed by no more then 1 inch. MAx tire size, 29.5/10.5 slick or 315/60 radial.
Import, max tire 26x10.5.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Class #2 rules are open for debate, i want to here your opinions on them. Im going to have some sort of pay out for class 2, I have no idea what that will be yet, but i am going to have something for you guys. This will run on a sportsman ladder with a .400 pro tree. quick 16 or 32 of there are enough cars.
Thanks again everyone
edit... Race format for class 1 will be a true street style run order. We will take the fastest 8 cars from each class to come up with a class average. In the event a car breaks and cannot make 3 full passes, So long as the broken car has completed its 1st pass the next slower car(#9) last 2 passes will count into the average.
You can post in this section or go here
